‘CHALLENGES AND WAY-FORWARD IN HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE

DRAFT NEW EDUCATION POLICY (NEP) 2019’

We are aware of the Draft New Education Policy (NEP) 2019 submitted by the Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. K Kasturirangan, which has been uploaded on the Ministry`s website (https://mhrd.gov.in/relevant-documents) for seeking comments and to initiate necessary action to ensure series of discussions are carried in the institutions and there is widespread dissemination of the outcome in different platforms.

Thus, with the objective to disseminate the knowledge about the Draft NEP 2019, related to  Higher Education, a Group Discussion and Debate Session was organized on the topic ‘Challenges and way-forward in Higher Education in the Draft New Education Policy 2019’ among the MBA Sem-I students of the leading B-School SMJVs C K Shah Vijapurwala Institute of Management (CKSVIM), Vadodara, on 10th July 2019, conducted by Dr Ranjita Banerjee, Associate Professor, CKSVIM and motivated by the Patron, Dr Rajesh Khajuria, Director, CKSVIM.

The students were forwarded with the Draft NEP 2019, a day before the GD and Debate Session, so as to enable a healthy informed discussion among the students. The GD was conducted in two groups, each having 10-12 students to enable healthy discussion. The audience strength was about 40 students of MBA Sem-I, who also participated in the Open-forum Round. 

The purpose of the event was to acknowledge the students with such big new amendment in the education system and to get their views on what actually affects the user-group i.e the higher education recipients.  It was an open platform for every student to present their views on what they considered as the positive step by government and what they think could be done to enhance the system.
