Yoga is a 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice, having its origin in India, which aims to transform both body and mind. On December 11 in 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga under the vision of Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Every year International yoga day is celebrated by every National and State level institutions, University, Schools and as well as by individual enthusiastically.

As a part of the International Yoga Day Celebration, CKSVIM has celebrated the same on 21st June, 2017. The theme of the yoga was “Yoga – An Inspiration for Joyful Living”. A yoga and Pranayam session of one hour was conducted by CKSVIM for Faculty, Staff and Students. Yoga instructor Ms. Kiran Daswani was invited to teach different yog mudra and benefits of the same.


Yoga is a system which brings peace and harmony between mind and soul. It brings not only healthy life but also happiness in the one’s life. CKSVIM faculty, staff and students got an opportunity to learn advantages of doing yoga in day to day life.

The Yoga session was started with chanting of “Om” and prayer, which was followed by pranayam, and yoga mudra such as Tadasan, Virbhadra Aasan, Surya Namaskar, Vjrasan, and ended with meditation and shanti path.

The participating members were glad to attend this session and they were so refreshed and relaxed after performing different yoga aasan and pranayam.

We are thankful to Hon. Shri Narendra Modi for initiating such a noble cause as it brings happiness and health among the common individuals. The institute is also thankful to GTU, AICTE for initiating this under them.
