INTERACTION WITH MR. VINOD REGE, FORMER DIRECTOR OF GATT / WTO

For C K Shah Vijapurwala Institute of Management, one of the leading premiere Management Colleges in Gujarat, the year ended on a very ‘informative note’ , with one of the leading diplomat visiting and addressing the students…Sh. Vinod Rege, former Director of GATT/WTO. He is presently advisor to ambassadors of Commonwealth developing nations on WTO issues.
Sh. Rege gave deliverances on the principles pertaining to WTO rules regarding trading of goods, services & Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). He focused on the shift towards export-oriented growth, especially for the developing nations. His talks covered on contemporary issues like IPR, role of developed nations and the opportunities for developing nations through international trade. He discussed on the amendments been made towards anti-dumping issues and unfair trade practices, issues on international parity and ‘Most favoured Nation Treatment’ as well as ‘National Treatment’ rule i.e equal treatment on domestic as well as imported goods.
The students through a series of questions and concerns had an in-depth interactive session with him to acquire plethora of knowledge on the role of WTO and its impact on developed & developing nations.
